From artificial intelligence to the electronic case file: the chairman of the Zainsk City Court presented the final book of the trilogy
The monograph "The Electronic Criminal Case", issued in a print run of 1,000 copies, is dedicated to the memory of judges and court staff who were killed or went missing during the Great Patriotic War, and will serve as a guide for the country's lawyers.
A new monograph, "The Electronic Criminal Case", has been published; one of its co-authors is Ramil Bikmiev, Chairman of the Zainsk City Court, Candidate of Legal Sciences, and Associate Professor of the Department of Criminal-Legal Disciplines at the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice named after V. M. Lebedev. This is the third book in a series of scholarly works devoted to the digital transformation of justice. It is also significant that the authors dedicated their work to the bright memory of judges and court staff who gave their lives for the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War.
As Ramil Bikmiev himself notes, this monograph completes a trilogy dedicated to the use of modern technologies in judicial proceedings.
"In the first one we drew attention to general issues of informatization, the second was devoted to the use of artificial intelligence in the work of the court. And finally, the third book answers the most practical question: how exactly to implement digital technologies in criminal proceedings. We figured out what an 'electronic criminal case' is and how it changes the work of the courts and the investigation. Our goal is to help the legal community transition more confidently to working in the new, digital format," says the court chairman.
The new work is intended not only to analyze existing practices but also to promote further digitalization of criminal procedure. The monograph "The Electronic Criminal Case" was prepared in co-authorship with Ramis Burganov, Candidate of Legal Sciences and Associate Professor at the Kazan branch of the Russian State University of Justice. The study focuses on a comprehensive analysis of the electronic criminal case within the Russian judicial system.
The authors examine in detail:
The concept, nature and procedure for maintaining an electronic criminal case.
The history of its development and the principles of organizing this form, new to the justice system.
Features of the functioning of the "electronic case" at all stages of the process — from the preliminary investigation to the execution of the sentence.
Legal regulation and technical aspects of the development of a unified platform for electronic criminal proceedings.
The book will become a valuable practical guide for a wide range of specialists: judges, employees of the Judicial Department, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD), the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, prosecutors, and defense attorneys. The monograph will also be of interest to lecturers, students, and postgraduates of law universities and to anyone interested in contemporary trends in criminal procedure.
The release of the new monograph is a significant event for the legal community, underscoring the dynamic development of domestic justice and its move toward a digital future.
