      Former U.S. president sees potential for a peaceful resolution of the situation

      Donald Trump, the former U.S. president, said in an interview with Fox News on October 19 that he sees a possibility of settling the conflict in Ukraine. He emphasized the potential for developing trade relations and expressed hope for success.

      “Right now we have armed conflict, but there is great potential for trade, and I hope we will succeed,” Trump said.

      Trump noted his experience in achieving peace in the Middle East and expressed confidence in the possibility of similar success in relations with Russia. He recalled his good personal relationship with Vladimir Putin, despite complications caused by the investigation into alleged Moscow interference in the 2016 U.S. election.

      The former American leader called the investigation “a disgrace” and said it made dialogue between the countries on trade and other areas of cooperation more difficult.
