In Tatarstan, the procedure for recognizing family businesses was approved.

      The Cabinet of Ministers of Tatarstan approved new rules for recognizing small and medium-sized enterprises as family businesses and for maintaining their register. The resolution was signed by Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin.

      According to the document, to obtain the status of a family enterprise one must meet one of three conditions:

      1. Family members own more than 50% of the company's equity or shares, and one of them is an executive officer or the chair of the board of directors.

      2. More than 50% of the members of a cooperative or a farming enterprise belong to the same family, or at least one employee of the farm is a family member of its head.

      3. More than 50% of an individual entrepreneur's employees are members of their family.

      Family members are defined as spouses, parents, children, grandparents, and siblings.

      Decisions on recognition will be made by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, and documents must be submitted to the Entrepreneurship Support Fund of the Republic of Tatarstan. The status of a family enterprise must be confirmed annually.
