      Details have emerged about the outfitting of the new pre-trial detention center in Kazan, whose construction was completed in July 2025. The facility includes single-, double- and four-person cells equipped with bunk beds, private bathrooms, sinks, tables, refrigerators and radios. Mounts for televisions have been installed; the equipment will be provided later.

      Special attention has been paid to security: windows with opening restrictors, grilles on vents and light fixtures, and video surveillance without blind spots. In the women's unit, cells for mothers with children up to three years old have been created, with changing tables and cribs. Eight zones have been equipped for outdoor walks, including a children's area and a sports area with exercise equipment.

      It was earlier reported that the new SIZO in Kazan will only be opened next year.
