Five new Russian citizens — draft evaders — were caught at construction sites in Kazan.

      Employees of the 384th Military Investigative Department for the garrison of the Investigative Committee of Russia, together with officers of the internal affairs bodies, conducted a raid at construction sites in Kazan and caught five foreigners with Russian citizenship who were evading military service. They were immediately taken to the city's military commissariats.

      “Over the past and current year more than 780 migrants who received Russian citizenship have already been registered. Similar operations will continue,” the 384th Military Investigative Department for the garrison of the Investigative Committee of Russia reported.

      We remind you that evasion of conscription for military service is punishable under the article “Evasion from military and alternative civilian service.” Punishment may include a fine of up to 200,000 rubles, compulsory labor for up to two years, arrest for up to six months, or imprisonment for the same term.

      Everyone who has received Russian citizenship should register for military service in a timely manner to avoid liability.
