The meeting with South African engineer and entrepreneur Errol Musk was attended by the President of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Tatarstan, Rifkat Minnikhanov; the General Director of PJSC Tattelecom, Ayrat Nurutdinov; and representatives of leading scientific and technological institutes.
The parties discussed promising directions for scientific and technological cooperation, including opportunities to export high-tech services from Tatarstan to international markets.
During the conversation Mr. Musk emphasized the importance of developing fundamental science. “Humanity must understand gravity and learn to use it for its purposes — for movement, doing work, solving problems on a large scale,” he noted in particular.
President of the Academy of Sciences Rifkat Minnikhanov officially invited Errol Musk to participate in the international forum Kazan Digital Week — 2026, which will be held from September 16 to 18, 2026 at Kazan Expo.
Mr. Musk expressed interest in returning to Kazan to take part in the forum. “The world should know about Kazan and about what is happening here,” he emphasized.
Earlier, during his visit to Tatarstan, Errol Musk visited the Kazan IT Park and Innopolis University, where he learned about the region’s innovation infrastructure and the ecosystem for training personnel.
