The man hoped that five traffic police fines of 1,000 rubles each and the large 30,000‑ruble fine for driving a car while intoxicated would be "forgiven", reports the Main Directorate of the Federal Bailiff Service of the Russian Federation for the Republic of Tatarstan.

      However, his hopes were not justified. The judicial bailiff‑executor handling the enforcement proceedings decided on the forcible delivery of the persistent non‑payer. After being brought to the department, a new administrative report was drawn up against the man under Part 1 of Article 20.25 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation — for failure to pay an administrative fine within the period established by law.

      Having considered the case, the magistrate's court issued a harsh but lawful decision: each of the unpaid fines was doubled. As a result, the total amount of the debt, which initially amounted to 35,000 rubles, grew to an impressive 105,000 rubles.
