The prosecutor has requested eight years’ imprisonment and a fine of 15 million rubles for blogger and business coach Ayaz Shabutdinov in a criminal fraud case, the press service of the city prosecutor’s office reports. The state prosecutor asked that the blogger be found guilty in 113 counts of fraud committed by an organized group, in amounts classified as significant, large and especially large. It is noted that 113 people were harmed by the actions of the organized group’s members; they paid for the offered courses from 60 thousand to 12 million rubles. The total damage exceeded 57 million rubles. Earlier on his Telegram channel the blogger also published a post admitting guilt. “I sincerely apologize to everyone who developed unjustified expectations about the educational value of our programs… And I want to note that I never acted with malicious intent. My original mission — to help people develop entrepreneurial skills — was sincere. But the methods I used need to be reassessed,” he wrote. Ayaz Shabutdinov sold courses that promised a successful start in business. At the time of his arrest he had about 1.9 million followers on social media.
The criminal case against other members of the organized group has been separated into a separate proceeding.
