A "Safe Crossing" campaign was held in Mendeleyevsk: children were reminded of road safety rules.

      The event was organized jointly with the State Budgetary Institution “BDD” and the GAI.

      A preventive campaign “Safe Crossing” was held at Kindergarten No. 10 “Ryabinushka”.

      The key event was an educational talk for preschoolers. Speaking to the children were Malika Ibragimovna Khalikulova, head of the prevention department of GBU “BDD”, and the YID team (young traffic inspectors) from School No. 4. The main goal of the campaign is to reduce the number of road traffic accidents involving children. The initiative’s relevance is due to the increase in vehicle traffic and the growing number of pedestrians on the roads. Preschoolers from the “Forest Lake” group demonstrated excellent knowledge of traffic rules: the children recited poems about road safety and spoke about the meanings of road signs.

      The practical part of the event was supervised by GAI officers and the young traffic inspectors. The children practiced safe road-crossing skills in real situations, following all traffic regulations.

      At the end of the campaign each participant received a leaflet with the basic rules of the road. The organizers hope that such lessons will help develop in children a conscious attitude toward road safety and reduce the risk of road accidents involving them.
