In Tatarstan, a discussion was held on the initiative of the republic's Rais, Rustam Minnikhanov, to declare 2026 the Year of Labor Valor.

      The decision to declare 2026 the Year of Labor Valor was announced as part of the annual Address to the State Council. State Duma deputy and chairman of the Committee on Economic Policy Maxim Topilin called the decision a logical step reflecting recognition of the selfless labor and significant achievements of Tatarstan residents. In his view, Minnikhanov's initiative not only underscores the region's contribution to ensuring sustainable economic development, but also symbolizes the unity of the front and the home front in the context of the special military operation. Topilin emphasized that the labor of Tatarstan residents is a long-term investment in the future of both the republic and the entire country.

      Timur Kamaletdinov, who heads the Commission on Youth Affairs, Patriotic Education and Volunteering under the Public Chamber of the RT and is also director of the republican center "Forpost", stated that a labor feat on the home front today is as important as a feat on the front line. He reminded that during the Great Patriotic War industry and the people's labor enthusiasm provided victory — and today the situation is similar. "To honor people's labor means to acknowledge their contribution to the common Victory," he emphasized.

      State Duma deputy Aidar Metshin, a member of the relevant committees on competition protection and citizens' housing rights, called the initiative a logical continuation of the theme of patriotism and service to the Fatherland. According to him, over the past three years society has undergone a rethinking of true values: people increasingly associate patriotism not only with military feats but also with labor feats. The declaration of 2026 as the Year of Labor Valor is, in essence, a modern interpretation of the ideas embedded in the Year of the Defender of the Fatherland.

      Olga Pavlova, a member of the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation from Tatarstan and adviser to the chair of the regional "Dynamo" branch, noted that the Rais's statement is not merely a formal remark but an exact response to society's demand. "The front and the home front today are united by one goal — victory. It is especially important that Tatarstan consistently opposes falsifications and disinformation: the information field has become no less significant a field of battle," she said. Pavlova also stressed that Minnikhanov's words are backed by concrete actions: support for volunteers, development of social initiatives, and strengthening public unity. In her opinion, it is precisely this approach that allows the stated goals to be turned into real results that unite the nation.
