According to preliminary information from the republic's State Traffic Inspectorate, the 50-year-old driver lost control, veering into a ditch on the opposite side and the vehicle subsequently overturned.

As established by law enforcement officers, the man was not wearing a seat belt, which worsened the consequences of the accident. After being extricated from the damaged car, the injured man with multiple injuries was urgently taken to a medical facility, but it was not possible to save his life.
The preliminary cause of the incident is considered to be exceeding a safe driving speed. An investigation into the road traffic accident is currently underway to establish all the circumstances of what happened.
The State Traffic Inspectorate of Tatarstan once again urges drivers to strictly observe traffic rules, use seat belts, and choose a speed appropriate to road conditions.
