Faculty of the Kazan Orthodox Theological Seminary took part in a conference dedicated to the 110th anniversary of the repose of the venerable elder Gavriil of the Seven Lakes. The event was held on 25 September 2025 at the Vysoko‑Petrovsky Stavropegial Men’s Monastery in Moscow.
The Kazan Theological Seminary was represented by Associate Professor of the Department of General and Church History, Priest Antoniy Ermoshin, and Assistant of the Department of General and Church History, Artur Damirovich Tumakov. Father Antoniy delivered a paper remotely on the development of the iconography of the elder Gavriil’s image. Artur Tumakov discussed the history of the ensemble of the Ascension‑of‑the‑Mother‑of‑God Sedmiezernaya Hermitage and the elder’s role in its formation.
The conference was opened with a moleben to Venerable Gavriil. Participants heard greetings from Bishop Ioann of Bronnitsy and Archimandrite Herman, after which a tour of the monastery was organized to immerse them in its historical heritage.
