Participants of the "Bridge of Unity" forum from Lysychansk and Rubizhne arrived in Kazan.
Forty participants from Lysychansk and Rubizhne have arrived in Kazan for the Tatarstan and Luhansk People’s Republic youth forum “Bridge of Unity.” For seven days they will attend advanced training courses in their fields. The guests staying in the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan are accommodated in the Universiade Village, where they were greeted with traditional treats — a karavai and chak-chak.
“We tried to put together an interesting and comfortable program for the forum. Welcome to the land of Tatarstan. We are proud of our youth policy, the best in the country. I sincerely wish you to spend the coming week with great benefit and productivity, but also to find time to rest,” said acting Deputy Minister for Youth Affairs of the Republic of Tatarstan Vladislav Usanov, addressing the participants from the LPR.
At the opening, the guests sang the Russian national anthem together with activists of the Tatarstan branch of the Young Guard to the accompaniment of a live orchestra.
“Tatarstan has always been famed for its hospitality. For us, the young people from the LPR are our comrades with whom we have worked side by side over the past several years. Our people travel there on humanitarian missions,” said State Council deputy of the Republic of Tatarstan and head of United Russia’s Young Guard in Tatarstan Ruslan Shigabutdinov.
Among the forum participants who arrived in Tatarstan are representatives of various professions: entrepreneurs, civil servants, teachers and many others. Each of them will be assigned a curator who will help them immerse themselves in the republic’s culture and share professional experience, explained the chairman of the Youth Government of the Republic of Tatarstan Igor Zhernenkov.
“Since August 2024 we have regularly travelled to Lysychansk and Rubizhne and established contacts with the local youth. Then the ‘Bridge of Unity’ forum project was born so that young people from different specialties could take advanced training courses. They will be able to learn about Tatarstan’s best practices as well as the republic’s culture,” he explained.
The journey to Kazan from the two LPR cities took just over a day. Their first impressions of Tatarstan are very positive, Andrey Berveno, press secretary of the Rubizhne administration and one of the forum participants, told Tatar‑inform.
“It is very important for us to exchange useful practices with Tatarstan. After all, we are only beginning to build our young republic; we can learn a lot. Cultural exchange is interesting, and we also want to see your region. One hundred seventy-five nationalities live here in peace and harmony — I am very curious how such a result has been achieved,” the agency’s interlocutor noted.
He emphasized that Tatarstan is making a significant contribution to the restoration of Lysychansk and Rubizhne, and he separately thanked the volunteers who travel to these towns in Luhansk region.
