      Practical preparations have begun in Kazan for the launch of delivery robots. The project is being implemented by Tatarstan’s digital team, the City Hall, and the company Yandex. Special vehicles are already operating on the streets creating detailed digital maps — these are necessary for autonomous devices to navigate. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      A delivery robot can carry up to 20 kilograms of cargo in a 61-liter compartment and operate without recharging for up to 70 kilometers. Its speed is comparable to a person’s brisk walking pace, which allows it to move safely along sidewalks.

      The robots are equipped with an automated control system and fully comply with traffic rules: they respond to pedestrian traffic light signals and yield to people and vehicles.
