Agricultural fairs remain popular among the people of Tatarstan.

      Since September 13, the republic has resumed traditional agricultural fairs at 14 venues in the city of Kazan, 2 venues in Naberezhnye Chelny and Zelenodolsk District, 3 venues in Nizhnekamsk District, and with varying frequency in municipal districts. Over the weekend, the First Deputy Minister of Agriculture of the Republic of Tatarstan, Lenar Garipov, visited the fairs on Prospekt Pobedy, Fuchik and Batyrshin, personally assessing the full range of food products on offer. Lenar Garipov spoke with buyers and sellers, answered all questions of interest, and thoroughly inspected the assortment at the fair venues. The stalls featured poultry, eggs, beef, pork, potatoes, vegetables, milk and dairy products, sugar, sunflower oil, flour and a variety of confectionery products. Farmers and agricultural enterprises offered city residents fresh, high-quality products grown and produced in the republic. Agricultural fairs have become a good tradition in Tatarstan and are held regularly, ensuring a link between producers and consumers, contributing to the development of agriculture and improving the region’s food security, which corresponds to the goals and objectives of the national project “Effective and Competitive Economy.” As a result of ten weeks of fairs, agricultural products were supplied totaling 977.8 million rubles; of which 6,009.1 tons of vegetables, including 3,724.5 tons of potatoes; 199.9 tons of bulk milk; 635.3 tons of sugar; 1,341,900 chicken eggs; 723.1 tons of meat (including 425.5 tons of beef).
