NATO saw a serious threat in the Russian cruise missile "Burevestnik".

      The Russian cruise missile "Burevestnik" with a nuclear power unit has caused serious concern in NATO. This was reported by the Euronews TV channel, citing a secret document of the North Atlantic Alliance.

      According to the authors of the document, the missile may pose a danger to the defense of the military-political bloc because of its "extraordinary range and maneuverability."

      Accordingly, some NATO experts believe that if Russia does indeed field the "Burevestnik," this threat will be very difficult to control.

      At the same time, other specialists are confident that the "Burevestnik" will not give the Russian Federation a significant strategic advantage, even if its nuclear engine works successfully and stably.

      On October 26 of this year, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced the completion of decisive tests of the unlimited-range cruise missile "Burevestnik" with a nuclear power unit. According to the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation, Valery Gerasimov, the missile was in the air for about 15 hours and covered 14,000 kilometers (which is not its limit).

      Vladimir Putin announced the creation of the "Burevestnik" cruise missile with a nuclear power unit in March 2018. The American analytical center Nuclear Threat Initiative asserted that from 2017 to 2019 there were at least 13 tests of the missile, but they all turned out to be unsuccessful. In October 2023 Putin spoke of a successful test of the "Burevestnik."

      U.S. President Donald Trump, in response to the tests of the "Burevestnik," said that Russia and the United States do not play games with each other on the issue of nuclear weapons, and reminded of American nuclear-armed submarines.
