On the Day of Remembrance for Road Traffic Victims, alarming statistics were published in Tatarstan. In the first ten months of 2025, 275 people died on the republic’s roads. The most lives were taken by driving into oncoming traffic — 76 fatalities. Second in number of victims were collisions with pedestrians, which claimed 43 lives. Another 40 people died because of neglecting seat belts. Drunk drivers caused 33 deaths, and speeding led to 20 fatalities.
Also, 15 minors died on the republic’s roads.
Behind these simple figures are hundreds of lives and destinies cut short. Each statistic represents someone’s father, mother, child, friend, or colleague. The Traffic Police again reminds: road safety is not just rules, but a conscious choice of every road user.
