       New rules have been developed in Tatarstan for issuing marriage permits to minors under 16. A union can only be entered into with the consent of legal representatives and in the presence of exceptional circumstances.

       A new regulation has been developed in the republic that governs the procedure for issuing permits to marry to persons under 16. The document is currently undergoing an anti-corruption review and sets clear criteria for such exceptional cases. According to the draft document, guardianship and custodial authorities will be able to grant marriage permits provided several conditions are met simultaneously: the consent of legal representatives and exceptional circumstances. The latter include: pregnancy of more than 22 weeks, the fact of the birth of a common child, as well as a threat to the life of one of the future spouses, writes "Tatar-inform."To obtain the permit, it will be necessary to submit a package of documents, including a medical certificate on health status, documents from the place of study or work, as well as information on the absence of a socially dangerous situation in the family. Applications can be submitted through several channels: in person, via the MFC or electronically through the "Gosuslugi" portal.The application must be accompanied by: an identity document, a birth certificate, a medical certificate confirming the exceptional circumstances, and the written consent of parents or legal representatives. It was previously reported that men in the Republic of Tatarstan marry much more often at ages 25–29 than women. At the same time, women more often marry at ages 18–24.
