Social travel passes are issued monthly to members of privileged categories of citizens. They allow unlimited use of public transport.

From the new year, residents of Tatarstan who use concessional travel documents will face another fare increase. From January 1, 2026, the cost of social travel passes in the republic will rise, according to a draft regulatory act undergoing an anti-corruption review.

The single monthly travel pass will see the largest increase — its price will go up by 26 rubles to reach 656 rubles. The children’s social travel pass will also rise in price: from the current 384 to 400 rubles, an increase of 16 rubles.

Control over the implementation of the new tariff regulation will be exercised by the Ministry of Transport and Road Economy of the republic, writes Tatar-inform.

It should be noted that social travel passes grant eligible categories of citizens the right to an unlimited number of trips on public transport during a calendar month, making them an important element of social support for the population.

In addition, the Cabinet has decided to raise the subsistence minimum in Tatarstan. It is noted that the amount will vary for different population groups. Throughout 2025 the subsistence minimum was 15,000 rubles; in 2026 it will be 1,000 rubles higher.

As previously reported, Kazan has begun implementing a pilot project to pay for transport services by QR code. The innovation will affect buses operating on routes No. 62, 72 and 34.
