Trump: the proposed peace plan for Ukraine is not final

      U.S. President Donald Trump said the proposed plan to resolve the Ukrainian conflict can be changed. He told reporters about this.

      “No. We would like to achieve peace. This should have happened a long time ago. We are trying to put an end to this one way or another,” Trump said.

      This week the media published the American leader’s 28-point plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. The plan provides for de facto recognition of Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk as Russian, elections in Ukraine 100 days after signing the agreement, limits on the size of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF), and a gradual lifting of sanctions on Russia. According to it, NATO will not deploy troops in Ukraine, and frozen Russian assets will go to the restoration of Ukraine and joint projects with the U.S.

      At the same time he set a deadline for Ukraine to decide on the White House peace plan and expressed the view that Kyiv will lose the remaining parts of the Donbass “in a very short time.” In addition, Trump said the U.S. will soon impose “very powerful” sanctions on Russia.

      Today the media wrote that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, together with the leaders of France, Germany and other European countries, are trying to beat the deadline — Thursday, November 27 — to rewrite the American leader’s peace plan. In an address to the nation, Zelensky himself promised to propose an alternative to the U.S. peace plan.
