In Tatarstan, Rosselkhoznadzor officers halted the sale of more than 24 kg of sanctioned cheese.

      On November 20, 2025, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor Directorate for the Republic of Tatarstan, the Tatarstan Customs and the Tatar Transport Prosecutor’s Office carried out inspection activities to detect agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs prohibited from import and circulation in Russia on the domestic market.

      During the inspection, 24.2 kg of sanctioned cheese produced in the Netherlands, France, Germany and other countries were discovered and seized in one of Kazan’s cheese shops.

      Currently, in accordance with Presidential Decree of the Russian Federation No. 560 of August 6, 2014 “On the Application of Certain Special Economic Measures to Ensure the Security of the Russian Federation” and the requirements of Government Decree No. 778 of August 7, 2014, a ban is in effect on the import into Russia of certain types of agricultural products, raw materials and foodstuffs from a number of states, including European Union countries.

      The seized goods have been destroyed.
