Cadets from Tatarstan participated in the Olympiad on the fundamentals of security and homeland defense “I Serve the Motherland! I Serve the People!”

      From November 21 to 24, the republican school Olympiad on the Fundamentals of Safety and Defense of the Motherland "I Serve the Fatherland! I Serve the People!" was held at the Duslyk health and education complex. Its participants were 137 students in grades 7–11 from Kazan, Naberezhnye Chelny, and 11 municipal districts of the republic. All of them study at institutions with the official designation "cadet school" and "cadet boarding school."

      In addition to theoretical knowledge, the students demonstrated their skills in a practical round. Their abilities in land navigation and organizing a crossing, donning a gas mask, throwing grenades, providing first aid, assembling/disassembling and loading an assault rifle, and even Morse code proficiency were assessed.

      After a series of trials, the jury announced the winners:

      Svyatoslav Volkov, 8th grade, Kazan Cadet Boarding School named after Hero of the Soviet Union B. K. Kuznetsov;

      Darina Yegorova, 9th grade, Cheremshan Cadet Boarding School named after Hero of the Soviet Union I. N. Konev;

      Oksana Mikheeva, 10th grade, Cheremshan Cadet Boarding School named after Hero of the Soviet Union I. N. Konev;

      Vyacheslav Tenishev, 11th grade, Tatarstan Cadet Corps of the Volga Federal District named after Hero of the Soviet Union Gani Safiullin.

      A total of 51 participants from 13 districts of Tatarstan, including Kazan and Naberezhnye Chelny, became prize-winners.

      The participants' work was evaluated by experienced specialists — lecturers from the region's leading universities and educators who have been awarded honorary titles of Russia and Tatarstan.

      Teachers who prepared the winners and prize-winners were presented with certificates from the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Tatarstan.
