Russia is awaiting an official U.S. plan to resolve the conflict in Ukraine.

      The Kremlin believes that versions of the document being disseminated in the media are aimed at derailing peace efforts

      Russia has not yet received from the United States an official version of a plan to settle the conflict in Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said. According to him, Moscow is waiting for a document from Washington that will be agreed with the European Union and Ukraine.

      Lavrov emphasized that versions of the plan appearing in the media are being spread deliberately to create media noise. In the minister’s view, the aim of such publications is to sabotage efforts for a peaceful settlement and to alter the document to suit certain forces. Russia has channels of communication with its American colleagues and is waiting for a version of the plan that the US will consider interim after coordination with the Europeans and the Ukrainians.

      If the presented document violates the key agreements reached in Anchorage, the situation will change radically, Lavrov noted.

      Kremlin press secretary Dmitry Peskov also commented on the situation, calling it “an information bacchanalia.” He noted that because of the large amount of contradictory information it is impossible to comment on every media report. The Kremlin believes that the American draft could become the basis for negotiations, but is waiting for an official document.

      According to Western media, the original US plan to settle the situation in Ukraine was reduced from 28 to 19 points after talks in Geneva and consultations with European allies. Controversial issues, including the topic of territories, are planned to be discussed in separate negotiations between Trump and Zelensky. It is also reported that US Army Secretary Dan Driscoll held a meeting in Abu Dhabi with Russian officials and is to present Russian representatives with a 19-point plan. The Kremlin has neither confirmed nor denied this information.
