"We feel that the people are with us": a tank battalion commander spoke about love for the Motherland

       He headed Nizhnyaya Maktama for six years. During that time he earned authority and respect among the local residents and the district leadership. With the start of the special operation he, as a military man, could not remain on the sidelines: he worked on collecting aid for the fighters, repeatedly went to the SVO zone with humanitarian convoys. Later he went "to get the ribbon" himself. Emotions overwhelm the fighters from the lines written by children. In them schoolchildren and students wish the servicemen well, warmth and, of course, victory. The modest daily life is also shared by the former head of Nizhnyaya Maktama – Ramil Badretdinov. He has been in the combat zone for one and a half years. The SVO is not the first hot spot in the lieutenant colonel's life; he fought in Chechnya. Even then the commander developed a special attitude toward those under his care. "The attitude toward a soldier must be fatherly. Back then they were young, 18-year-old conscripts, and I was 30. Now if there is a task, I put it up for discussion, then I think it through myself. Then we discuss and decide how to do it correctly," said Ramil Badretdinov, lieutenant colonel, commander of the "Granit" tank battalion. For caring for the soldiers Ramil Badretdinov was nicknamed "Batya." Attention from home is needed both by the lieutenant colonel and by the servicemen junior in rank. Volunteer organizations work in the district for this. Humanitarian aid is regularly sent to our fighters. And when possible the men find a way to indulge themselves even in the combat zone. "We have the opportunity, at least once a week to go out and buy home-cooked food. We want home cooking and sweets. And when this is sent to us, it is very pleasant, we feel that the people are with us," shared Ramil Badretdinov, lieutenant colonel, commander of the "Granit" tank battalion.

       Support from home inspires and motivates the fighters, and also charges them with inner strength. A strong army equals a strong state, and vice versa: a strong state has a strong army. That is what Ramil Badretdinov believes, and the lieutenant colonel calls the military profession one of the most prestigious for a man.  "I am a military man myself, you could say we have a dynasty. My father is a World War II veteran, he was a major. I would repeat my life from beginning to end, I do not regret it at all. And the choice for men today, I think today it is the most optimal," explained Ramil Badretdinov, lieutenant colonel, commander of the "Granit" tank battalion. Love for the homeland prompted Ramil Akramovich to apply for contract service. And he was able to go to the combat zone only after six months.

      

       This tank is installed in Nizhnyaya Maktama in memory of the heroism of the heroes in the Great Patriotic War. Ramil Badretdinov honorably accepted the legacy of his grandfathers, and now in the SVO he is the commander of a tank battalion. The lieutenant colonel led the settlement for 6 years and upon returning from the combat zone promised to return to work.
