Another case of gas poisoning

      Late the previous evening, emergency medical assistance was required by residents of building 21A on Shosseynaya Street in Kazan. A young man and a young woman born in 2006 felt unwell and refused hospitalization.

      Maintenance in the building had been carried out on October 22. When the apartment was inspected after the emergency, it was determined that with the windows closed there was no draft in the chimney. The riser serving five apartments has been shut off. Gas supply will be restored only after the management company provides the report from the flue-and-stove service.

      The inspection is investigating the circumstances of the incident and is also checking fulfillment of obligations by the management company and the gas service.

      According to Gazprom Transgaz Kazan LLC, from the beginning of the year through November 17 there have been 26 cases of carbon monoxide poisoning and 3 cases of asphyxiation from natural gas. Fifty-seven people were affected and two died.
