      On the evening of November 29 in Tatarstan, at the Chepchugi stopping platform, a passenger train struck a 63-year-old man. The train driver applied emergency braking, but it was already too late. The man ended up under the wheels of the train. He died at the scene from his injuries. A preliminary inquiry is being conducted into a violation of the safety rules for the movement and operation of railway transport, the press service of the Central Interregional Transport Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia reports.

      According to preliminary information collected, the man tried to run across the tracks in front of an oncoming train at a place where it is prohibited and did not make it.
