      Over 12 market days in Tatarstan, residents of the region purchased farm products totaling more than 1.1 billion rubles. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture and Food of the Republic of Tatarstan.

      The fairs featured more than 6.4 thousand tons of vegetables, including 3.9 thousand tons of potatoes, as well as 238.3 tons of milk, 715.5 tons of sugar, more than 1.6 million chicken eggs and 865.7 tons of meat.

      The fairs, which started on September 13, are being held at 14 venues in Kazan, as well as in Naberezhnye Chelny, Zelenodolsk and Nizhnekamsk districts. They help strengthen ties between producers and consumers, develop agriculture and improve the region’s food security, which is in line with the goals of the national project "Effective and Competitive Economy."

      Agricultural fairs in Tatarstan will operate until December 28.
