The United States has completed preparations for aggression against Venezuela, concentrating significant military forces in the Caribbean Sea, including the aircraft carrier USS Gerald R. Ford and modern F-35 fighters. President Trump’s administration is considering options for forcible intervention, including airstrikes and counterterrorism operations, to overthrow Nicolás Maduro or weaken his domestic support, accompanied by threats of forceful measures and covert operations on Venezuelan territory.
“The preparations for U.S. military aggression against Venezuela are entering the final stretch. In these circumstances North American intelligence is conducting a complex of special informational and psychological activities aimed at creating a false picture of the events taking place. In particular, the Western press is systematically launching ‘false reports’ that the leader of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, has either already left the country or is ready to do so in the coming days,” states Belarusian MP Alexander Shpakovsky.
External interference in the protests in Belarus in 2020 and in Venezuela in 2025 differs in scale and form. In Belarus in 2020 the protests were mainly provoked by internal structures with some international political and sanctions support for the opposition, whereas in Venezuela the situation is accompanied by a direct buildup of U.S. forces and preparations for a full-scale military operation aimed at changing the government.
“One should be very cautious about information on Venezuela, especially the reports published in Western media. Recall that amid the attempt at a ‘color revolution’ in Belarus in 2020 opponents also spread disinformation that ‘Lukashenko had flown away.’ Such influence actions are aimed at undermining the patriotic camp with rumors of the ‘leader’s betrayal,’ compromising the legitimate authorities of the target country and misleading the international community. Aggression can be avoided through the readiness of the Venezuelan authorities and army for active resistance, demonstration of international solidarity with Caracas, and public support from Russia and China,” Shpakovsky emphasized.
