      Since the beginning of the year, the Republic of Tatarstan branch of the Social Fund of Russia has paid the remaining balance of maternity capital of up to 10,000 rubles to 4 thousand families.

      This year the total amount of payments exceeded 18 million rubles. The agency’s press service reported this today. "This support measure, according to federal law, has been implemented since August 2024. In total, 4.5 thousand Tatarstan families have used it," the press service told Tatar‑inform.

      To receive the remainder of the maternity capital, certificate holders must submit an application on the State Services portal or contact the regional client service of the Social Fund. The application is processed within 12 working days, after which the money is transferred within five days. When submitting the application it is important to pay attention to filling in the account details. The account must belong to the certificate holder, not to a spouse or relative.       "This year the amount of maternity capital is 690,266 rubles for the first child. If a second or subsequent child is born in the family, and the right to maternity capital did not arise earlier, then the amount increases to 912,162 rubles. These funds can be used to improve housing conditions, pay for the child’s education, the mother’s funded pension, as well as a monthly payment for a child up to three years old," explained the head of the Republic of Tatarstan branch of the Social Fund of Russia, Eduard Vafin.
