Simple rules — safe holidays

      The New Year holidays and winter break are approaching. This is the most wonderful time for children. They are looking forward to the Christmas tree, presents and various other entertainments. Sparklers, party poppers, firecrackers, snow slides, sledges, skis and skates — all of this is great and brings joy and positive emotions.

      But it is necessary to remember the dangers that can occur if basic rules of behavior and household safety are not followed. Injuries, bruises, cuts and burns can spoil the festive mood.

      So that the holiday days are not clouded by misfortune, senior inspector of the Department for Supervision and Preventive Work for the Zainsk Municipal District Zulfia Rizvanova, together with a representative of a public organization, held a preventive event with the pupils of the Solnyshko kindergarten, their parents and teachers.

      During the event a representative of the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations (EMERCOM) told fathers and mothers about the need to observe fire safety measures, which are very simple:

       – the tree should be placed on a stable stand and positioned away from heating appliances;

       – do not use candles, paper ornaments or cotton wool to decorate the tree;

       – do not light sparklers on the Christmas tree, and do not use candles or party poppers nearby;

       – do not allow children to play near the tree unsupervised or to use open flames (matches, candles, etc.);

       – buy factory-made electric garlands with bulbs connected in series;

       – all electrical products must have a quality certificate;

       – if you notice an unpleasant smell, sparking or heating of the wires, you must immediately switch off the lighting and not use it until the cause of the malfunction has been eliminated.

      The inspector also explained what to do if the tree suddenly catches fire (how to extinguish it). At the end of the event leaflets on fire safety measures were handed out to parents, children and teachers.
