This leads to them becoming a vulnerable group forced to accept working conditions that local workers may reject. “Despite growing anti-migrant sentiments, no one will seriously close the borders, because capital needs a rightless and cheap labor force. This is true for both the USA and Russia. ‘Labor resources’ are now being brought not only from Central Asia but also from India. Even less integrated into our society, and therefore even more deprived of rights and low-paid,” Volkov concluded.
