      A Tu-214 aircraft equipped entirely with domestic systems received a Rosaviatsiya certificate approving a modification of the type design. This was reported by the press service of the state corporation Rostec.

      The document was presented to First Deputy Managing Director of Tupolev JSC Zufar Mirgalimov by the head of Rosaviatsiya Dmitry Yadrov. The ceremony was attended by Head of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, Russian Minister of Industry and Trade Anton Alikhanov, Russian Minister of Transport Andrey Nikitin and CEO of the United Aircraft Corporation Vadim Badeha.

      Anton Alikhanov noted that during the aircraft’s modernization unique domestic airborne collision warning and ground proximity systems were created. According to him, similar solutions had previously been produced by only one foreign company, but Russian developers managed to eliminate this dependence. The minister emphasized that the upgraded Tu-214 has become an important step on the path to technological independence for civil aviation.

      Andrey Nikitin said that the approval opens the way for serial production of the import-substituted Tu-214. According to UAC’s plans, by the end of 2027 output of such aircraft should grow to 20 units per year.

      Rostec noted that dozens of enterprises took part in the creation of the fully Russian aircraft. The Kazan Aviation Plant is undergoing modernization to increase production volumes, and extensive work has been carried out in parallel to certify equipment and systems.

      Dmitry Yadrov stated that the result of this work was a fully domestic medium-range aircraft ready for safe operation. He added that work on other civil aircraft is continuing in parallel, which should improve transport accessibility and support economic development.

      Vadim Badeha emphasized that the approval was the result of the labor of Tupolev’s engineers, designers and test pilots and the cooperating enterprises. According to him, the Tu-214 became the first import-substituted civil aircraft to receive permission from the Russian aviation authorities, but work on other civil aviation projects continues.
