A heartfelt gift: Yelabuga veterans receive subscriptions to their favorite newspapers

      In Yelabuga there has been a kind tradition for several years now — gifting subscriptions to the beloved district newspapers "Novaya Kama" and "Alabuga nury."

      Thanks to the heartfelt generosity of donors, such an important gift is received by veterans, elderly Yelabuga residents and activists. For many readers it is not just a periodical but a part of life, a reliable link to their native land and its people.

      The CEO of Essen Production AG, deputy of the State Council of the Republic of Tatarstan Leonid Baryshev once again supported this noble initiative. His gift is not merely a courtesy but sincere attention to those for whom the newspaper remains a faithful companion and a reliable source of news.

      Among those who received a subscription is Ivan Ivanovich Trofimov, a member of the presidium of the Veterans Council of Yelabuga District. He is 86 years old and comes to the post office every Friday for the fresh press.

      – I still remember the newspaper "Stalinsky Put'," Ivan Ivanovich shares. – After a long absence I returned to Yelabuga in 2010 and have been reading "Novaya Kama" ever since. City news and historical materials are especially interesting — there have been more of them recently. Thanks also for the publications about our guys participating in the special military operation. The newspaper is part of my life.

      Another reader, Ekaterina Kuzminichna Morkovkina from the village of Tanayki, has known the paper since childhood.

      – As a child I always looked for notes about our village: how much milk was milked, what news from Kolosovka and Tanayka, she recalls. – Now the newspaper writes about the whole district, and that’s wonderful: sport, health and culture are all covered. The print edition remains relevant for our generation. Many thanks to Leonid Anatolyevich for this gift — he has been pleasing us with subscriptions for several years now.

      It is especially pleasant to note that newly elected deputies also take care of their constituents. Thus, the deputy of the Tatarsko-Dyum-Dyumskoye rural settlement Nurislam Kadyrov arranged a gifted subscription to the newspapers "Novaya Kama" and "Alabuga nury" for the village residents. Thanks to his generous spirit, next year 15 villagers will receive good news, useful articles and important materials.

      In addition, within the framework of the Decade for People with Disabilities, at the initiative of the deputy head of the district executive committee for social development, Elena Merzon, subscriptions were organized for persons with disabilities.
