Tatarstan has approved the "Buran" operational plan for the 2025–2026 winter period.
The Republic of Tatarstan has adopted an updated operational plan "Buran" to respond to emergencies caused by adverse weather conditions in the winter of 2025/2026. This was reported by the Deputy Minister of Transport and Road Economy of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ranis Faizullin, at an extraordinary meeting of the Emergency Commission.
The plan is aimed at ensuring the stable operation of road and rail transport. Seventeen contracting organizations and 1,125 units of specialized equipment, including combination road machines and dump trucks, are engaged in road maintenance.
A sufficient amount of materials for winter maintenance has been stockpiled: for regional roads — 282.9 thousand tonnes of sand and 91.9 thousand tonnes of salt; for federal roads — 18.2 thousand tonnes of sand and 29.5 thousand tonnes of de-icing agents.
Monitoring of road conditions will be carried out using 44 meteorological stations on federal routes and 39 on regional routes. Prime Minister of Tatarstan Alexey Pesoshin urged those responsible to continually monitor the situation and be ready to act if necessary.
