Since the beginning of 2026, one-time payments have been increased in Tatarstan for citizens wishing to sign a contract with the Russian Ministry of Defense. The maximum payment now reaches 2.9 million rubles, of which 2.5 million is provided by the republic and the remaining 400 thousand by the Ministry of Defense. This financial support applies not only to contract servicemen of the special military operation, but also to personnel serving in unmanned systems units and the African Corps. Before going into service, candidates undergo mandatory training lasting at least two months.
The contract-signing process in Tatarstan is simple and fast: processing literally takes one to two days. Prospective contract servicemen are reimbursed for travel, accommodation and meals, are given a choice of specialty and issued equipment. In addition, the fighters and their families enjoy all entitled federal and regional benefits and support. Such incentive measures are aimed at increasing the attractiveness of contract service and strengthening the country’s defense capability.
