The "Znanie" society has launched an online course on cybersecurity for children.
The Russian "Znanie" Society, together with the autonomous non-profit organization (ANO) "Digital Economy," has launched on its educational platform a free online course on children’s safety on the Internet for teachers and parents.
The course "Digital Hygiene: How to Teach Children Internet Safety" is hosted on the Znanie.Academy platform. It is intended to help adults better understand the behavior of modern children in the digital space and learn to recognize various online threats. Teachers will master a systematic approach to cyber safety for schoolchildren, learn to identify the main types of threats and their psychological impact, and will be able to teach specialized lessons on the topic. Parents will learn how to foster a culture of online behavior in their child and how to promptly notice signs of cyberbullying and other dangerous situations.
As Alexandra Buichik, head of the Znanie.Academy platform, noted, in conditions of rapid technological development, safe online behavior skills are becoming critically important for children. It is teachers and parents who should explain how not to give in to threats and how to respond to them correctly.
The program consists of eleven structured lessons with a total duration of about five hours. Each module includes a video lecture, a detailed summary, additional materials, and test assignments to consolidate knowledge. Participants will receive practical tools that can be applied immediately in life. Upon successful completion of the course a personalized certificate is issued.
Leading experts in the field of digital security participated in the development and delivery of the course: head of the "Digital Literacy" group at ANO "Digital Economy" Tamara Chechetkina; chair of the Alliance for the Protection of Children in the Digital Environment Elizaveta Belyakova; Doctor of Psychological Sciences Olga Ulyanina; and head of the children’s online safety direction at Kaspersky Lab, Andrey Sidenko.
