Diplomat Konstantin Volkov paid a working visit to the Bolgar Islamic Academy.

      The head of the organizational and analytical department of Rossotrudnichestvo familiarized himself with the work of the educational institution.

      The Bolgar Islamic Academy was visited on an introductory visit by the head of the organizational and analytical department of Rossotrudnichestvo, former director of the Russian Center for Science and Culture in Paris, Konstantin Volkov. The guest was met by the academy’s rector Farhat Khusnutdinov, vice-rector Rustem Gilmutdinov and the head of Spassky District Roman Islanov.

      During the meeting the rector spoke about the history of the academy’s founding and its key mission — the revival of the national theological school and the preservation of the intellectual heritage of Russian Muslim scholars. Farhat Khusnutdinov noted that the university is a unique platform where modern educational standards are combined with deep spiritual traditions.

      The visit program included a tour of the laboratory for the restoration and digitization of ancient manuscripts. Konstantin Volkov appreciated the laboratory’s high scientific and technological level and its role in preserving the written heritage. The guest also familiarized himself with the material and technical base of the educational process and the academic environment created at the academy.

      As part of the visit the diplomat also visited Bolgar’s architectural symbol — the White Mosque, where he was told about the history of its construction and its unique artistic appearance.

      Following the meeting the parties emphasized the importance of developing contacts between the academy and public diplomacy institutes. Such visits help strengthen intercultural dialogue and lay the groundwork for future joint educational projects.
