One man and a 10-year-old child were hospitalized in Kazan with gas poisoning. At the moment their condition is assessed by doctors as satisfactory, the State Housing Inspectorate of Tatarstan reports.
It is known that the incident occurred in building No. 45 on Revolyutsionnaya Street. During the inspection it was established that the man and the child fell ill when a gas stove and a gas tankless water heater were turned on in the apartment. At the same time, there was draft in the ventilation duct and chimney only when the windows were open. At the moment of the poisoning the windows were closed.
After the incident specialists shut off the common riser serving five apartments in the entrance. Gas will be restored to the residents after the management company presents the chimney inspection report. “Maintenance in the building was carried out in December. If it was also carried out in the apartment where people were harmed, the gas workers should have noticed that with the windows closed there was no draft in the ventilation duct and chimney,” the State Housing Inspectorate of Tatarstan explained.
