A rabid lynx pounced on a 12-year-old girl on the grounds of the "Ufimsky Sokol" sports camp, the SHOT Telegram channel reports.
Preliminarily, the wild cat ran out of the forest. Staff reacted quickly. They separated the child from the animal. But the lynx continued to behave erratically: it ate snow and began having trouble breathing.
An ambulance, police, employees of Rosprirodnadzor and a wild animal rehabilitation center arrived on the scene. The lynx was captured near the camp, but they could not help it.
According to experts, the predator had rabies in a severe form. It died in front of witnesses. They did not even have time to euthanize the lynx to examine it.
It is reported that the injured girl is fine. The bites and scratches were shallow. The schoolgirl is currently receiving injections and is under medical supervision.
