Kazan police have solved a previously committed theft.
The crime occurred in mid‑August in one of the cafés in the Moskovsky District. A 21‑year‑old resident of Kazan reported to the police the theft of a mobile phone. He said he stepped outside, leaving his belongings on the table, but when he returned they were no longer there.
Officers of the “Voshod” police department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia for the city of Kazan identified the suspect and detained him at his place of residence. The man, born in 1963, fully admitted his guilt. The mobile phone was seized during a search of the suspect’s apartment. During interrogation the suspect confessed that, having noticed someone else’s property on the table, he decided to steal it. After that he left for another city.
The investigation is currently ongoing; the suspect has been placed under a measure of restraint in the form of an undertaking to appear.
