During the New Year holidays, demand for side jobs in Russia more than doubled. Tatarstan became the leader among Russian regions for this type of earnings.
During the New Year break, from December 31, 2025 to January 11, 2026, residents of Russia significantly stepped up their search for temporary earning opportunities. According to statistics cited by Vesti Tatarstan, referring to data from the Avito Podrabotka service, overall interest in such employment nationwide increased by 115% compared with the same period last year.
According to the published data, the most notable growth was recorded in the Republic of Tatarstan. Here, the number of responses to vacancies related to side jobs grew by 157%, an absolute maximum among all Russian regions. Service specialists explain this activity by special conditions offered by employers during the holidays. To quickly attract staff and promptly solve tasks, many companies set higher pay rates, making temporary work more financially attractive.
The greatest demand from job seekers was for merchandiser vacancies — responses to these offers increased by more than 2.3 times. Interest also grew significantly for promoter work (by 131%), street cleaners (by 82%), sales managers (by 52%), and sales representatives (by 39%). It was previously reported that Tatarstan topped the ranking of Russian regions by the amount of cash loans issued. Based on last year's results, the average amount of a cash loan requested by residents of Tatarstan amounted to 1.2 million rubles.
