       A delegation from the Republic of Tatarstan, headed by the Minister of Industry and Trade of Tatarstan Oleg Korobchenko, is on an official visit to Afghanistan.

This meeting discussed issues related to the prospects for cooperation in various areas of the economy, including the construction of joint production facilities. “The result of our joint work is a 25 percent increase in trade turnover over the past year. [...] I believe that cooperation with Afghanistan can be strengthened in a number of areas – mutual trade, agriculture, energy, logistics, and many others,” the press service of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Republic quotes the minister. Korobchenko noted that Tatarstan enterprises are already implementing several joint projects with Afghanistan and also reminded about the Russian Business Center that opened in Kabul in 2023.

       In addition, issues related to organizing the training process for Afghan engineers in Tatarstan, as well as the supply and subsequent maintenance of cargo vehicles and helicopters were discussed. Today, August 6, negotiations are ongoing. The exact program of meetings and negotiations of the Russian delegation is not disclosed.
