The ranking is based on 7 indicators characterizing alcohol and tobacco consumption, the prevalence of drug addiction, sports participation, and working conditions.
Tatarstan has demonstrated an impressive leap in promoting a healthy lifestyle, rising 10 positions in the national ranking and taking fourth place in progress dynamics among all regions of the country. According to data from the RIA Novosti study, last year the republic significantly improved its indicators, yielding only to Crimea in growth rates. Thanks to this positive trend, Tatarstan rose to 28th place in the national ranking in 2024 with a score of 70.2 points, while the year before the republic was only in 38th place. According to the study data, the leaders of the ranking traditionally remain the regions of the North Caucasus: Dagestan has taken the top spot for the ninth consecutive time, followed by Ingushetia and Chechnya. Among other regions that showed significant growth, experts note Bryansk region, St. Petersburg, and Moscow. Analysts emphasize that high positions in the ranking are usually occupied by territories with low levels of tobacco and alcohol consumption, a large number of residents regularly engaged in physical education and sports, as well as a minimal share of workers employed in unfavorable conditions. It was previously reported that 12 new ice arenas will be built in Tatarstan.
