In Tatarstan, 100 rural post offices will be modernized in 2026.
The Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilya Nachvin, reported this. In 2026, it is planned to modernize another 100 post offices in Tatarstan, predominantly located in rural areas. The Minister of Digital Development of the Republic of Tatarstan, Ilya Nachvin, noted that for many small settlements, the post office is the only point for receiving parcels, government services, and essential goods. "Throughout 2026, we plan to put another 100 post offices in order. For small villages, the post office sometimes remains the only accessible place to receive services, parcels, and essential goods. The post office connects the village with the city and the outside world. It is not only about shipments and digital services but also about basic accessibility, especially for the elderly and those who cannot travel regularly," he added. Currently, there are 1,112 post offices operating in the republic, of which 852 are located in rural areas. The modernization of these facilities is considered by the authorities as a key element in the development of the region's social infrastructure. From 2022 to 2025, 88 rural post offices were reconstructed as part of a federal program in Tatarstan. The total funding for this initiative amounted to 449.3 million rubles. In 2025, major repairs were carried out in 30 post offices: half funded by the republican budget and the other 15 with federal support. In comparison, similar work affected 26 facilities in 2024.
