       In Kazan, a project for the reconstruction of Profsoyuznaya Street, which runs parallel to the city's main pedestrian artery — Bauman Street, is being developed. The head of the administration of the Vakhitovsky and Privolzhsky districts, Albert Salikhov, reported that it is planned to revise the traffic organization, prioritizing greening and creating a comfortable environment for walks for residents and tourists, writes RBC. The mayor of Kazan, Ilsur Metshin, supported the initiative to make the street pedestrianized on weekends and holidays. "We support and give the 'green light' to the initiative to make it pedestrianized on weekends, at least on some holidays," the mayor stated. He emphasized that the final decision on traffic organization will be made jointly with experts in the fields of transport, traffic safety, urban planning, and public order protection. Plans for the reorganization of Profsoyuznaya were announced by Salikhov back in November 2025, stating that in the future the street will become much more comfortable for pedestrians. The Kazan Development Institute has been involved in developing the concept, and its specialists are already analyzing existing transport and pedestrian flows, as well as studying the physical characteristics of the roadway and sidewalks. Profsoyuznaya Street is known for its vibrant nightlife: many bars, restaurants, and clubs operate in the renovated historical buildings, making it attractive for visitors. It was previously reported that schools in Tatarstan plan to implement the "Smart Cafeteria" system, which will fully automate the payment process in self-service areas.
