In Kazan, a 29-year-old IT employee is being tried under the article on "financing extremist activities" for donating 1,000 rubles to the FBK.
The Republican agency "Tatar-Inform" reports that he has admitted guilt. The Soviet District Court of Kazan today, March 10, began hearing the criminal case against 29-year-old Shukhratjon Albekov, who is accused of "financing extremist activities" (part 1 of article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation). This is reported by the republican agency "Tatar-Inform". According to the investigation, in 2021 Albekov sent one thousand rubles to the Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK). "Tatar-Inform" specifies that the man transferred the money "after watching a video from Navalny's channel on a video hosting site." The publication writes that Albekov was born in Tajikistan. He is currently registered with his parents in Kazan and works in the IT sector. "Tatar-Inform" also reported that the man lives with a girlfriend, "with whom he came to court." At today's hearing, according to the agency, the charges were announced, after which the court began examining written evidence. — The charges are clear, I admit guilt, — Albekov was quoted by "Tatar-Inform". Judging by the card on the court's website, the criminal case was submitted to the court at the end of January. Albekov was included in the register of "terrorists and extremists" of Rosfinmonitoring on September 11 of last year. The next court session is scheduled for April 21. The FBK was recognized as an "extremist" organization by the Russian authorities in the summer of 2021. The court's decision came into force on August 4, 2021. The next day, the foundation launched a fundraising campaign through the Stripe service, claiming that it was safe. "Mediazona" noted that on the first day of the new fundraising, part of the FBK website address appeared in bank statements. Security services, analyzing these statements, noticed other identifiers, which expanded the circle of suspects. On August 6, 2025, the FBK made a statement regarding the persecution of those who sent donations to the foundation, stating that the foundation "does not engage in any extremist activities," and those who began to be persecuted by the Russian authorities were called "victims of absolute arbitrariness and political repression." The FBK noted that donations made from Russian cards through the Stripe service were directed to an American legal entity, which until June 2023 was not included in any registers, and since February 2022, donations from Russian cards had been disabled. In Russia, at least a hundred criminal cases have already been initiated regarding donations to the FBK after the organization was recognized as "extremist." Subscribe to our channel on Telegram.
