Of this, 1.15 trillion rubles — or 65.8% — were sent to Moscow; just under 599 billion rubles (34.2%) remained in Tatarstan. "As of the end of 2024, this proportion was 64% and 36% respectively (the center received 1.02 trillion, while the region received 574 billion rubles)," KazanFirst clarifies. The growth of collections in Tatarstan last year was 9.7%. At the same time, revenue to the federal budget from Tatarstan increased by 12.8%, while the regional share increased only by 4.3%, according to Rosstat data. Marat Galeev, deputy chairman of the State Council Committee on Economics of Tatarstan, said that "we have traditionally been donors since about 1934." — "This is essentially the legacy of a developed economy that collects taxes," he told KazanFirst. At the same time, Galeev noted that "in fact, we collected even more." The thing is that customs duties in Tatarstan are not counted as taxes, although they are actually part of the tax system, writes KazanFirst. Taking into account duties, the total amount of collected revenues will approach two trillion rubles. — "But the federal center takes all the duties as well. And then it will be not 66%, but even more," Marat Galeev stated. In 2025, Tatarstan accounted for almost 22% of the total amount of all collected taxes in the Volga Federal District, as stated in the KazanFirst material. At the same time, revenue from the federal center increased last year. In 2025, Tatarstan's budget received 111.9 billion rubles in non-repayable funds, compared to 95.1 billion rubles in 2024. Recall that in 2023, 1.55 trillion rubles in taxes and fees, including duties and contributions to social funds, were collected in Tatarstan. About 31% of this amount remained in the republic (481 billion rubles), while the rest was sent to the federal center.
