In the Republic of Tatarstan, an initiative was put forward to create institutions similar to kindergartens, but specializing in the care of elderly people.

The Commissioner for Children's Rights in the Republic of Tatarstan, Svetlana Zakharova, presented an unusual initiative at the forum "There is a Result!", where proposals for inclusion in the people's program of the party were discussed. According to Zakharova, the essence of the initiative is to open institutions for elderly people similar to the operation of kindergartens. "I dare to propose the option of opening an institution analogous to a kindergarten, but for the elderly," the statement from the children's ombudsman of the republic reads. She pointed out that such a measure would allow adults not to part with their elderly parents who require constant care and not interrupt their work activities. Zakharova noted that in Tatarstan, great attention is already being paid to active longevity: the "University of the Third Age," various recreational venues, and specialized programs are in operation. A special place is occupied by the development of the institution of foster families for elderly people. In addition, the forum proposed the introduction at the federal level of a monthly allowance for low-income families with five or more children, where the parents are disabled of the first or second group or have a disabled child. It was previously reported that Tatarstan has recorded a significant increase in prices for grain coffee. According to Rosstat data for February 2026, a cup of this beverage with a volume of 200 grams in fast food establishments costs residents of the republic an average of 99.96 rubles. This is 14.3 percent more expensive than in February of last year.
