The "Abilympics" championship has started in Tatarstan.

      About 1,800 people are participating — evenly divided among schoolchildren, students, and specialists. From March 16 to April 13, the regional stage of the championship of professional skills among people with disabilities and those with limited health capabilities, "Abilympics," is taking place in the republic. The competitions are being held as part of the federal project "Professionalism" of the national project "Youth and Children." About 1,800 people are participating — evenly divided among schoolchildren, students, and specialists. The championship will take place in 35 educational organizations across 14 districts. Participants will showcase their skills in 50 core and 75 regional competencies. New to the program are "Eyebrow Specialist," "Development and Assembly of UAVs," "Manufacturing of Rattan Products," "Body Repair," "Social Rehabilitation Specialist," and "Prosthetics Technician."

      Special attention will be given to the "Festival of Opportunities" for people with severe disabilities. About 550 people will try their hand in 22 areas: from kitchen assistant to artistic wood painting. For the youngest — aged 5 to 13 — a "Profession Introduction Festival" will be held in Kazan, Chelnы, Nizhnekamsk, and Arsk. In a playful format, children will get acquainted with 18 competencies. Let us remind you that last year, the Tatarstan team won 69 medals at the national championship in Moscow, taking second place in the medal standings. The republic was also awarded for its contribution to organizing the first "Abilympics" championship among participants of the Special Military Operation.
