      A local resident born in 1961 contacted the duty unit of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in Nizhnekamsk. The man reported that he had fallen victim to a multi-stage fraudulent scheme, losing a large sum of savings. It has been preliminarily established that the victim received a call from an unknown person who introduced herself as a social protection employee. Under the pretext of increasing his pension, she convinced the man to dictate a code from an SMS. Immediately after this, he received another call, where a different interlocutor informed him that he had been communicating with fraudsters and needed to be switched to the "FSB line." The caller, who identified himself as a security service employee, claimed that a loan had allegedly been issued in the victim's name and that his account was being used to finance illegal activities. The criminal intimidated the man with criminal liability and convinced him to withdraw all his cash. In the following days, the victim communicated with new "curators" via messenger and video calls. They explained how to behave correctly in the bank to avoid raising suspicions among the staff. The man submitted a request to withdraw money at the bank branch, and the next day he received 1,350,000 rubles at the cash desk, stating that the funds were needed to buy a summer house. Following the dictation of the callers, he packed the money in a bag and handed it over to a stranger near his home, previously stating a conditional password. Only the next day, when the victim was asked to find another million rubles and register a change of ownership for his apartment, did he realize what was happening and sought help from a neighbor, and then from the police. A criminal case has been initiated based on the signs of a crime under Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
